Amitabh Bachchan’s career suffered a major setback during the 1990s. When his movies weren’t making much money, Big G started ‘Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited’ aka ABCL, which caused the actor substantial financial losses. In an interview, the Sholay star revealed that the financial loss was such that he went bankrupt. Amitabh also had to deal with a significant amount of debt, and his personal bank balance was completely depleted.
At that time, all of Amitabh Bachchan’s means of earning were shut down, and the government had raided his house. During this trying time, Dhirubhai Ambani treated the Kalki 2898 AD star with kindness. When Dhirubhai learned of Amitabh Bachchan’s financial crisis, he told Anil Ambani to offer some money to the actor. The gesture from the Reliance founder touched Big B. However, he politely declined to take any money from the businessman.

In an interview shared by Bollywood Tehelka, Amitabh Bachchan mentioned that Dhirubhai Ambani’s offer could have resolved all his financial troubles. The actor got emotional at Ambani’s generosity; however, he turned down the help. Bachchan added that God was kind, and after some challenging days, life got better again. The actor shared that he began receiving work again and gradually managed to settle all his debts.
Later, Dhirubhai Ambani invited Amitabh Bachchan for a special event at the Ambani residence. Many prominent figures from the business world attended the event. At the event, Dhirubhai asked Amitabh to sit next to him. Big B revealed that he was initially hesitant, but Ambani kept on insisting.
In front of several business stalwarts, Dhirubhai Ambani said something that made Amitabh Bachchan deeply emotional. The Kalki 2898 AD star recalled how Ambani said that he respects Big B because, despite falling, he bounced back on his feet. In the interview, the Don star revealed how Dhirubhai’s words and generosity meant more to him than any money the businessman offered him.
