Kamal Haasan is back as Senapathy; resumes war against corruption [Watch]

Popular South Indian superstar Kamal Haasan is all set to spill magic with his trailer for Indian 2 which was released on Tuesday evening. The film has been directed by Shankar and it is the sequel to the 1996 film Indian, where Kamal played the role of a freedom fighter named Senapathy. In the first part, he was seen fighting against the corruption in the system and netizens loved his exceptional performance and appreciated his hard work. Well, after 28 years, Kamal has once again reprised the role in Indian 2.

In the trailer, Siddharth’s character is introduced who questions the problems in the system. He is seen talking about the problems faced by society including unemployment, corruption and the lack of development. He later introduces Kamal Haasan’s Senapathy who is once again ready to fight against the corrupt system and is all set to save the society with his fight for justice. Kamal’s character appears in several roles throughout the trailer and declares a war of independence. He says, ‘This is the second war of independence. You take the Gandhian approach, while I take Netaji’s approach.

Talking about Indian 2, it was announced in 2017 during the finale of Bigg Boss Tamil which was hosted by Kamal. Dil Raju backed out of the project and later the film was taken over by Lyca Productions. The shoot of the film began in 2019, but an unfortunate accident took place in 2020.

The film stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, SJ Surya, Gulshan Grover. Piyush Mishra in important roles. The film is all set to release in theatres in July. On the work front, Kamal was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Vikram that starred Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles.
